In 2018 Flavor wanted to add some more splash to the party and we are adding two North Carolina based liquor distilleries, Outer Banks Distillery and Bogue Sound Distillery, for Flavor 2018. Flavor Festival is about serving up great North Carolina products and we feel like these NC based companies do just that.

Two brewers and two bartenders had a dream to bring back the tradition of rum on the Outer Banks…

We all met, years ago, working at a local brewery in Kill Devil Hills and became fast friends over our shared love for good beer and rum. Over the course of many sessions spent sipping rum and talking shop, we came to the conclusion that starting a craft distillery on the Outer Banks made a lot of sense. Two members of the company, Adam Ball and Kelly Bray, worked at the area’s local breweries for many years. Our other two members, Matt Newsome and Scott Smith, have over 20 years of bar tending experience on the Outer Banks between them.

Local, American Owned, Top Quality…. Bogue Sound Distillery offers premium quality, gluten-free vodka, white whiskey, single malt whiskey, and Gin.

Bogue Sound Distillery offers premium quality, gluten-free vodka, white whiskey, single malt whiskey, and Gin.   The large distillery houses a museum showing how stills and spirits were made in the late 1700s and early 1800s.   A restored 1923 Ford Model-T pickup, complete with whiskey barrels is on display, along with a 1900s grist mill and some local family history.  Guests can tour the distillery museum and watch Bogue Sound’s 500-gallon still and 27-gallon test still actively engaged in liquor production processes.
